After an exciting second season, the Prototype and GT challenge returned for the third time and kicked off, two weeks ago, with a visit to Sebring International Raceway followed by a long journey Down Under to Phillip Island. With Sebring’s long straights, the Thundercats generally had the legs of the Radical SR8s, but with the race being 60 minutes in length, the Corvette C6.Rs had to stop for fuel and tyres. This meant that generally the non-stopping Radical SR8s had the inside line on the overall win. Pit stops are generally not needed in this series but at the longer events the Corvettes are unable to hold sufficient fuel to last the distance, hence the need to stop.
