When the 2011 AMA Supercross Championship got underway at Anaheim I, the reigning champion Ryan Villopoto wasted no time defending his title.
The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider went on to win the season opener, and went on to clinch the 2012 SX Championship at Round 13 in Houston March 31, the earliest clinch in the series' history.
