New Orleans Supercross - The History Lesson
The first race was held on June 4, 1977, and Marty Smith won on a Honda; it was the last Supercross Class win of his career. At the inaugural race inside the Superdome, there were eight different brands of motorcycles on the gate: Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Bultaco, Maico, Husqvarna, and Can-Am.
