The Premier GRAND-AM iRacing.com Online Sports Car Series already has the longest title among the multitude of online racing series on the iRacing.com service. But in the wake of the series inaugural season, it may be time to insert two more words into that lengthy title: Benelux Club. That’s because Benelux Club’s Dave Gelink and András Király not only took home top honors in the mixed class (Ford Mustang FR500s and Riley MkXX) series, they won their titles going away. As the West Region ends for a while, and East region gets ready to start up ... In 250 West Supercross 2010, Jake Weimer and Trey Canard are showing a lot of confidence right now. I'm very impressed with both of these racers right now. This past race at Anaheim was a good example for both of them.
Series points leader Jake Weimer has a great heat race with a win, even after that heat was red-flagged. Jake had some trouble in the Main Event, but showed his smarts by charging hard the full 15 laps, coming up to eighth at the finish ... that could literally save his season and potentially the championship title.
Trey had some problems in his heat, but came back very strong in the final - he won the 250 Main in Anaheim. That shows a lot of maturity from him as a rider.

I was very impressed with the layout of the entire facility - the pits, the press, the track ... the entire presentation.
Everyone from Glen Helen Raceway - Dr. Bud Feldkamp (track owner) to Lori (track manager), their staff including Carl, Steve, Bob did a great job in representing the United States and California in having one of the greatest motocross tracks in America.
I sat with Dr. Wolfgang Srb, President of the FIM Motocross Commission, and he was very impressed with the preparation of everything as well, including the track, especially with the fact that the event was put on with 60 days notice. He thought everything was top notch, and is excited to have the event come back next year.

DTM race in Shanghai canceled because the Chinese stage WTCC
The final race of the German Touring Car championship DTM 2011 in Shanghai, was canceled. As the official site DTM, this decision was caused by the coincidence of the date of the Shanghai segment of the penultimate race WTCC World Touring Car Championship in the Chinese province of Guangdong.
Administration Series DTM tried to agree on a transfer stage in Shanghai for another weekend, but city officials refused to meet the German championship.
"Canceling the race in Shanghai was regrettable, but I'm sure it will not end our presence in Asia series – the head of DTM, Hans-Werner Aufreht. – We will make every effort to return the race in China in calendar 2012.

GM Global Media Account Totals Around $3 Billion
General Motors amazed the audience when it announced its global media review, which by the way it is a huge one. In March 2011, the manufacturer reported global advertising costs of $4.26 billion for the year 2010. Analysts believe that the review applies only to paid media. Furthermore, General Motors revealed that it uses more than 20 media-buying companies worldwide and the count doesn't include creative agencies.

Tom Cruise test drives F1 car at Willow Springs

"I'm not a doctor, but I play one on television." If that line sounds familiar from old television commercials featuring soap opera stars in white coats, bear in mind that the theme extends far beyond the annals of fake medicine. People get mixed up between actors and the characters they play all the time.
Tom Cruise, for example, has driven all sorts of vehicles on the silver screen, from cars to motorbikes to speed boats, often pulling off scarcely believable stunts and feats in the process. But how much of that comes down to camera trickery and special effects, and how much can be chalked up to actual driving talent?
We got a pretty good answer when Cole Trickle himself set the lap record (however short-lived) on Britain's Top Gear, but Cruise wasn't about to stop there. So while David Coulthard and the Red Bull demonstration team were Stateside for a show in Texas, they met the Hollywood mega-star out in Southern California to let him try his hand at driving an Formula One car.
The seven-hour test at Willow Springs started in a road car, where Coulthard and Cruise drove the 2.5-mile track to get a feeling for the layout before the Mission: Impossible star climbed into the F1 car for 24 laps. At the end of the day, Cruise managed a top speed of 181 miles per hour - just four mph off of DC's trap speed - while scrubbing 11 seconds off his first lap - a marked improvement that left Coulthard impressed at Tom's skills.

Red Bull Teka KTM factory motocross rider Steffi Laier "Ready to Race" in 2011
When Steffi Laier, Red Bull Teka KTM factory rider and two-time Women's MX World Champion takes to the track in the pre-season MX races in Valence, France, this weekend it will be her first competitive ride for 2011. Steffi has been training hard on the bike since mid December and in Valence tests herself against a field of male riders.
At the French pre-season special, she faces off with a strong lineup of riders including those from the Nestaan JM Racing KTM squad led by Joel Roelants, Yentel Martens and young talents like 125 European champion Jordi Tixier of France and Austrian Pascal Rauchenecker.
